Appear

I delivered magazines in the morning, did a tour in the afternoon then wrote 300 words in Waitrose (while waiting for my wife to appear!) I mentioned on my tour (as I usually do) that I'm going to put a bit in SAASA about Sid and Arthur appearing from from a dimensional portal in the Post box that stands near All Saints, Pavement. I needed to remind myself that I need to write it because I'm nearly at the end of the book!

Relish is still not open, I wonder why?

Today's joke is:

The advantage of easy origami is twofold...

Parley

Today I played pirates with my grandchildren. I got some of it recorded on my phone. Burying plastic money and my grand daughter digging it up, sailing on the HMS Brown Table, having a Parley. No drawing today only, "Play pirates Grandad!"

However I did manage to write nearly 500 words today while my wife was teaching piano. Went to Waitrose to write the last 7 words and the cafe was closed!!! So we got the free coffees from near the door and drank them in the car. It wasn't half bad.

Next year

I managed to write 200 words in Waitrose today. If I keep this up I'll be finished by next year!!! :)

100

I managed to write about 100 words of Chapter 10 today. Some outside of my friend's house and a bit in Waitrose.

I did make up a joke the other day but I think it's too rude to share.

What's black and white and red all over?

A sunburned zebra!

Scooby Doo

On Tuesday I wrote about 250 words and yesterday I also wrote 600 words of SAASA 5. I started to write a little plan at my daughter's, then began to write while waiting for my wife to teach piano. I then typed in about 600 words of SAASA 4 at Waitrose with my free cup of coffee to hand.

Other events include, drawing flowers with my granddaughter and fighting with rubber swords. A bit of Scooby Doo, the Wombles and Captain Pugwash were also thrown in.

Flumble Tummies

I wrote about 250 words today at my grand daughter's Fayre, Mother-in-law's and Waitrose. I have decided to put SAASA 3 on Amazon even though I can't find the original picture for the cover.

Today's short story is:

I want to write something funny.

I need to write something funny.

I'm not going to write, "Something funny" even though I just have.

Mmmmm, what can I write.

A rhyme maybe?

A vision of pulchritude my dear,
Even though it rhymes with beer.
It's beauty that you look to see,
On the outside usually, no longer like me.

That's funny enough for now.

Bye :)

26th

It was my 26th anniversary today. We went to Starbucks and had a coffee. I didn't do any writing, I played a game instead. Looked at the new restaurants on Monk's Cross but ended up having a take away Chinese instead.

Today's joke is:

I slept like a log last night.... Woke up in the fire place!

WWI

After work today I walked to Waitrose and got my free coffee. It was a latte and wasn't half bad. I was also able to write 200 words or so of SAASA 5. I also got the Daily Mail free for the WWI paper inside it.

Today's joke is:

So I met this gangster who pulls up the back of people's pants, it was Wedgie Kray.

Gramophone

Today I took the gramophone that my parents bought my sister and I 40 years ago to let my grandchildren hear it. At one point my daughter asked me to turn it down! (It has no volume switch) so I had to put a tea towel in the horn to make it a little quieter. I played lots of rock and roll hits, Little Richard, Bill Haley etc.

Today's joke is:

Why don't penguins fly?

They're not tall enough to be pilots!

USB Transfer

I found my old phone yesterday and a charger. I recharged it and then looked for a USB lead to transfer the photos off it. I decided to check if the picture I wanted was on there, it wasn't. My son said it was on his old memory card, but I can't find it. It is the picture for Sid and Arthur's Steampunk Adventure!

I am stumped!

Today's joke is:

What do Hippy horses eat?

Hay, Man!

Elven Princess

On Saturday I inked a colour picture of an elven princess for my granddaughter. I didn't take any brushes or distilled water so I had to make do with what I could find there.

Yesterday I bought 300 x 78 records to use with my old gramophone, I also bought 200 needles to play them. I also found out yesterday that you are only supposed to use a gramophone needle once before you discard it!

Today I picked up my new glasses (had a free cup of coffee there) and went to the bank. I then walked to Waitrose to wait for my wife and managed to write 500 words of SAASA 5.

Today's joke is:
The roundest knight at King Arthur's court was Sir Cumference. He gained his weight from eating too much pi!

Pixie Town

It was my mum's funeral today. I read the poem out that she wrote when she was about 11:

Pixie Town

In Pixie Town there is a fair,
There are crowds and crowds of pixies there,
Suddenly they heard a band, and a pixie put up his hand,
And said, "Look over there, there is a crowd,"
And some said aloud,
"It's alright," shouted the coconut man,
"Someone's been knocked out with a leg of lamb!"

May she rest in peace.

One Shot

I went to the solicitor's today to sort out my mother's estate. I then walked back to Waitrose to have a free coffee with my wife. I got my writing pad out but played an iPad game instead. Then my wife rang up to say she wasn't coming for a coffee! It tasted better than yesterday because they gave me one shot instead of two.

One shot instead of two, sounds like a hunter who hit with the first barrel of his shotgun.

Coppergate

I had to go and see the minister today who will preside over my mother's funeral. We met in Starbucks, Coppergate. Now Coppergate, York, derives from the Viking for 'The Street of the cup makers'. The Vikings made wooden cups. Guess what, I watched episode 7 of Vikings from the History channel tonight. Ragnar and the others were smashing English plates, because they were used to wooden ones!

Waitrose

I haven't been updating my blog because my mother died a week ago and I have been trying to sort her stuff out.

I managed to write 500 words today and finish SAASA 4. I used my Waitrose card to get a free cup of coffee and do the last 250 words there. Next time I'll take some powdered milk because it was too strong. Maybe they do it like that so that you will only ever go in for one free cup!

I found a poem written by my mother when she was a teenager, so I have introduced a new character based on it. I am going to dedicate Attack on Thera to her.

Today's joke is:

My teacher said I was average, I told him that's just mean!

Memory

I managed to finish proofreading SAASA 3 yesterday morning and put it on Amazon as a project. I now need to find the original cover because it's on a memory card somewhere :(

Yesterday

Yesterday I managed to proof read 4 pages of Sid and Arthur's Steampunk Adventure part 3, at Starbucks on my iPad. I will try and do a bit more today and also write some more of SAASA 4.

Yesterday's joke was:

A plumber's pipe dream was to tap all his resources to become multifauceted!
