Naming a Dwarf
This is the piece of Flash Fiction I wrote on Thursday. I forgot to put it on on Friday (it is 00.08 here in the UK) but I'll still tweet it for #FlashFriday.
Naming a Dwarf
Two dwarves appear by a water cooler, one was Sid from The Crying Pennant.
"Aye aye," aye ayed Sid as he eyed the other dwarf, "who are you?"
"I'm the dwarf policeman from Hunting for Squink."
"So what's your name then?"
"I don't have a name yet, the Author is writing this piece of flash fiction so that he can create a name for me and then use me in the card game he's designing."
"Oh, what's your real name then?"
"Bloin."
"That sounds like a cross between Balin and Gloin."
"What's your name then?"
"Why everyone knows me, I'm Sid the dwarf."
"Oh," ohed the dwarf policeman as he got a drink of water.
"Can't you use your real name?"
"It's not up to me, it's up to the Author."
"Do you want to use your real name?"
"It would make things simpler."
So I made things simple, I called him Bloin.
"You also made Arthur," quipped Sid, "he's simple as well!"
